Banks & Building societies
Are you good with your own money? Do you fancy having the chance to help other people with theirs?
Retail banking has radically changed in recent years. Things we take for granted, such as credit cards and cash point machines, have been around for less than thirty years. And how many of us are paid in cash anymore? Now almost everybody has at least one bank or building society account, and this has impacted on every area of retail. Cards have now overtaken cash as the most popular method of payment, and more people than ever are buying their own homes and taking out loans and credit.
High street banks and building societies offer a vast range of services to both personal and business customers, from the more straightforward functions such as the running of current and savings accounts to giving in-depth and educated advice on a full range of financial products including savings and investments, mortgages, insurance and business loans. And the whole structure of banking has changed too, to meet customer needs. Many now operate telephone and internet facilities, sometimes alongside a branch network, sometimes as a complete service.
